In a world where it seems like everyone around you is doing a remix of La Roux's In For The Kill, you can only hope that eventually you won't be bored to death watching the beating of another dead horse. I'm pretty confident we'll survive this one with this amazing remix from Foamo. Against the scream remix, Foamo completely transforms the feel again. This one is a completely open airy vibe, giving it that Burial sound at the perfect speed for the floor. And last but not least, the vocals I'm sure you've completely memorized by now.
During the daily grind of lurking Craigslist in hopes for a better job, I found this listing looking for more people to be a part of some upcoming reality TV series called "Rock Star DJ". The first season is apparently going to take place in NYC and each DJ will compete, somehow, and be judged by likes of Ferry Corsten, Green Lantern, Babara Tucker, DJ JS-1, etc. in hopes of the "event of a lifetime" prize.
Come on. I'm trying really hard not to be the biggest hater ever over this, but wow. How long will America continue to glamorize a profession for the sake of terrible reality television? I'm sure we're not too far away from "Top Trash Man" or "America's Best Bank Robber." I don't understand why anyone who even remotely follows club culture will enjoy this. Just more media exploitation, I guess. But, that's just me.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's cool that some DJ will win some great prize and mad fame n props from this show, but I don't see how you could win this competition and have it create more buzz for you than you could not do for yourself by just simply being a good dj/producer.
I'm not even going to front. I haven't heard about this dude for very long but ever since I stumbled upon one of his remixes on a friend's myspace I've been all about Kingdom! He brings to the table exactly what I wanna hear on the floor. Sweaty, bouncy, ghetto, glitchy tunes and edits combining elements from just about everywhere from 90's R&B to the bassline nonsense of today.

Okay. I'm going to let this be knownright now. I in no way approve of the Autotune/Vocoder/T-Pain situation we have gotten ourselves into over the past couple of years. However, this song is great. Great production/ Talented singers, so I really can't complain this time. It actually fits here. Simply put.. This song is a shining example of when we should pull out the autotune plugin.
With that being said; I know JFoxx was trying to pull out all the stops on this one, but what the fuck? Why the hell did you cast Jake Gyllenhaal, Forest Whitaker, Ron Howard, and Samuel Jackson for your video? More importantly why for your video 'Blame it on the alcohol'?! Weird. I understand you're trying to depict THINGS GETTIN' WYLD IN DA CLUB, but Forest Whitaker and Ron Howard wyld? I guess. Also, the little class the video had deflated once they started showing T-Pain 'blaming it on the alcohol'. Or maybe it didn't? This video is obviously bigger than me, cause it seems like everyone was waiting to judge this performance based on the reaction after the video. I'm glad "He captured it!" Ha.

It's always great to find others who love the 80's vibe enough to put it right back on the dancefloor. I'm infatuated with those 70/80 funk hits, so when I heard Matlock's remix of Alexander O'Neal's 87 single 'Criticize' I found myself trapped on his page with it on constant reload. Lucky for me, he was nice enough to hand over the 320!
He's definitely brushed off some of the dust with his choice of powerful drums and Lead synth, but didn't take it too far away from the original which is what I love most about it. Kinda makes me wish it was Thursday night in New Orleans.. 80's Night, anyone?
